Testimony from a South Asian country:

My name is Ram. In my village, I started a small poultry farm. I sold chickens in the market or door-to-door. Suddenly, my chickens started dying – some each day. I was so worried; I sacrificed some birds in temples, but nothing happened. I tried everything I could do. I spent a lot of money on treatment for the birds as well. I was lost and did not know what to do next!

I took my last 10 chickens to the market to sell. There I saw some people distributing pamphlets. They handed me one. When I discovered it was about Jesus, I stopped reading it, tore it into pieces, and I threw it on those people. I told them there is no God. I told them I tried many things, but no god helped me so far.

To my surprise, the men did not get angry with me. They listened to me calmly and when I was done pouring out all my anger, they peacefully told me about Jesus. I was surprised by their calm behavior. After we talked awhile, they won my heart, so I took them to my home. They encouraged me to watch a movie. I gathered my relatives and neighbors about 40 people watched.

While watching that movie, I recognized my mistakes and was ashamed of my behavior. I sat on my knees, prayed, and asked forgiveness. These men have become good friends to me, and they pray for me every day. They helped me understand how every human is a sinner, and how only Jesus Christ can forgive my sins.

They even prayed for my chickens – what a surprise – now my chickens are growing and healthy. I have decided to follow Jesus Christ and pray every day for my family and chickens. I am so happy. I thank God.
