The NWA Wado Kai Karate Ministry at Rogers First is hosting a self-defense seminar with Sensei Peter Avino.
Sensei Peter is a 9th Degree Black Belt in Shintani International Karate Federation, 5th Degree Black Belt in Shindo, and Senate Advisor to the Shintani Wado Kai Karate Federation. He has dedicated over 46 years to the study of martial arts, including more than 30 years of competitive experience across multiple disciplines. Throughout his career, he has trained individuals in practical combat and self-defense in both the private and public sectors, including work with the U.S. Army Special Warfare Medical Group Combatives Program as well as various municipal organizations.
Everyone is invited to join Sensei Peter for this practical and informative seminar. Students of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Participants will learn simple, effective techniques through a progressive training approach, helping develop the fundamental skills needed to improve personal safety, increase survival awareness, and minimize harm.
The seminar will focus on practical, real-world self-defense presented in three key sections:
Recognizing and responding to striking situations
Handling ground confrontations
Applying self-defense techniques in realistic scenarios
